LME, with its teams of experts in the fields of quality control offers a large variety of services to the metallurgical industry (material characteristics test and research analysis, counselling).

A set of analysis for a high standard quality control.

Our specialists are equiped with late technological materials in a 450m² laboratory for a series of analysis, standard controls and tests.

Optical spectrometer emission for chemical analysis :

  • steel, cast steel and nickel alloys, 48 optic lines.
Metallographic test :

Mechanical test :

  • Tensile test at room temperature or hot (<700°C) Specific test on demand ;
  • Impact testing at room temperature or cold temperature (-196°C) ;
  • Particular test on request.

Metallographic test :

  • Macro and microscopic test ;
  • Analysis and definition of metallographic structure ;
  • Grain size ;
  • Inclusions ;
  • Content Ferrite.

Corrosion test

  • Intergranular corrosion measures through ASTM, ISO, etc. ;
  • Pitting corrosion test ASTM ;
  • Huey test.
Corrosion test

Non destructive examination :

  • Ultrasonic testing (UT) ;
  • Magnetic particle testing (MT) ;
  • Liquid penetrant testing (PT)e.

Welding metallurgy :

  • Destructive test to confirm, proceeding (with organism) ;
  • Test on production’s coupon.

Tensile test

  • 1 tensile test machine MAYES type CH 600-4 N° 94V91 – Force 600 KN - Test at room temperature until 900°C
  • 1 tensile test machine Roell Korthaus - Force 50 KN

Impact test

  • 1 pendulum PSD 300 with digital display (300 Joules of capacity)

Hardness test

  • 1 Hardness test  : WOLPERT type BK300b: BRINELL HBW 10/ 3000
  • 1 Hardness test : WOLPERT type V-TESTOR 2 – Vickers HV ( HV1 (1kg)- HV5 (5kgs) - HV10 (10kgs))
  • 1 Hardness test : ERNST type at 180 D – Rockwell C HRC
  • 1 Hardness test : WOLPERT type 3a : BRINELL HBW 5/750- 10/1000 -10/3000
  • 1 Hardness test : WOLPERT type 3b : BRINELL HBW 10/1000-10/3000

Micro / Macro

Analysis

  • 1 Optical spectrometer emission ARL type 3460 with 48 optic lines : low alloy steel, high alloy steel, nickel base, cast iron

Heat treatment

  • 1 furnace HERMANN MORITZ type MF4 N°127 : chamber 270 x 220 x 130, T°C maxi 1000°C with scheduler, recorder and regulator
  • 1 furnace MACE type FH8814 : chamber 700 x 700 x 1200, t°C maxi 700°C with scheduler, recorder and regulator

Corrosion test

  • 1 bench test of corrosion : flask heater + thermostat, glass PYREX
  • 1 precision balance : sensibility: 0,001 g, maxi 160g

Non destructive test

  • 2 apparatus UT marque KRAUTKRAMER type USN 50 and USN 52
  • 1 Magnetic equipment marque TIEDE type electro magnet
  • 1 Apparatus CONTROMAG marque « SREM » type GT6A – 6000 A
  • 1 UV light SOFRANEL
  • 1 rugosimeter HOMMEL TESTER type T500 with digital display
  • 1 lux meter.
